Marco Baleato, a student in the Master of Big Data and Massive Data Analysis Technologies at the University of Santiago de Compostela, has won the fifth edition of DXC Technology’s Best Master’s Thesis Award. His winning project, titled «Approach to the Real-Time Detection of Anomalies in Industrial Sensors Using Advanced Analytical Techniques», was overseen by Pablo Lombao, an engineer from FINSA, a Spanish multinational dedicated to wood processing, and consisted of developing a methodology for detecting anomalies in industrial sensors. Thanks to this project, FINSA has an alternative approach to one of the key sensors in the production line, both operationally and analytically, enabling it to identify improvement opportunities in one of the main areas of work and in the digitisation of the factory.
