EiDF Solar y CEREALTO firman un contrato para el desarrollo de 4 instalaciones fotovoltaicas

Cerealto, a global agro-food company, has partnered with EiDF Solar, a company specializing in self-consumption photovoltaic installations, with an agreement that involves the development of four photovoltaic self-consumption projects in three of its factories in Spain: Toro (1.2 MW), Aguilar de Campoo (3.2 MW), and Venta de Baños on two roofs (2.2 MW in total), which will generate a total power of around 7 MW, obtained from over 12,000 solar panels. This will mean an annual production of approximately 8.7 GWh and an estimated reduction of 24,435 tons of CO2, equivalent to 97,743 planted trees. The company will thus cover 70% of its electricity needs with renewable and environmentally friendly energy, resulting in reduced costs and improved competitiveness and efficiency of the business. With this agreement, EiDF Solar completes one of the largest installed power projects in its trajectory in the national territory.

Cerealto’s sustainability model is based on creating trusted relationships with each of its interest groups, ensuring a balance between economic growth, care for the environment, and the welfare of society, reflected in its Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Plan. Javier Leal, Cerealto’s Director of Operations, explains that «Cerealto’s main goal is to reduce a total of more than 24,000t of CO2 eq/year, equivalent to the emissions of more than 10,000 households, if we add up all the energy efficiency projects. This will significantly reduce the energy impact derived from our industrial activity in line with the European Union’s Sustainable Development Goals in support of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) 2021-2030.»

Meanwhile, KPMG’s Turnaround Advisory team in Spain has advised both parties on the opportunity study process and the review of the previous offer before the agreement.

EiDF Solar is an integrated renewable energy group with three business areas: self-consumption, generation, and commercialization. It has 12 commercial delegations throughout the country. In Generation, it has a pipeline of 2.6 GW with projects spread throughout the national territory. Following its vertical integration strategy, the energy generated in its parks will be sent to its commercialization unit.
