Aterriza en España y Portugal One Man Support, la empresa que está revolucionando la consultoría y el Interim Management en Europa

One Man Support (OMS), the European leader in high-level independent consultants, has arrived in Spain with a new and revolutionary business model based on empowering the talent of unique independent professionals, allowing companies of any type to access highly qualified profiles.

OMS arrives in Spain and Portugal with the mission of offering its clients the best of both worlds: the flexibility, accessibility, and motivation of freelance workers on one hand, and access to certified high-level resources with extensive experience on the other. Thanks to its independent resources, One Man Support offers solutions to resolve challenges related to strategy and organization, digital transformation, finance, and interim management.

Current situation in Spain: difficulties in accessing talent

Finding talent to carry out a project, whether internally or externally, is one of the obstacles that many Spanish companies face. Numerous recent studies conducted by job portals demonstrate that companies continue to have difficulties accessing this talent, while the latest labor force survey shows that the unemployment rate in Spain stands at 12.9%.

Regarding consulting firms, the traditional model is often a guarantee of excellence and rigor, but it is inherently limited in terms of experience to the internal resources and skills of the company. To address this issue, OMS has created a constantly evolving pool of unique independent professionals with the aim of offering tailor-made solutions to its clients.

In France, where OMS is already a consolidated company, working with independent consultants is more common than in Spain. These professional profiles are highly valued by society due to the influence of Anglo-Saxon countries.

As Ignacio Marinas, one of the partners of OMS in Spain, explains, «in our country, freelance consultants still have difficulties accessing certain projects, as many companies prefer to collaborate with conventional consulting firms, even if the costs are higher. One Man Support connects business needs with talent, which is very standardized in other countries, such as France.»

OMS partners highlight that Spain is key to the company’s growth in Europe due to its attractive business ecosystem and the need to access high-level resources to support its growth.

Solid track record since the creation of One Man Support

In France, OMS is considered a high-level company, like Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, or Boston Consulting Group. Created in 2013, One Man Support generated a turnover of 55 million euros in 2022, currently counting with 3,500 professionals and over 300 registered companies. Since its creation, they have completed more than 3,000 projects.

According to Marinas, «consultants are spread all over the world, which is not an impediment, as location is becoming less important for project execution. Additionally, the consultant has a high level of flexibility to travel or change residence temporarily.» Thanks to its philosophy, OMS has already received orders from large clients in Spain, such as Danone, Edenred, or Pernod Ricard.

Unique profiles combining excellence, independence, and operational experience

Companies can find professionals with highly specialized consulting and operational positions, more accessible than in a traditional consulting firm, ensuring that they have highly qualified profiles. Its independent consultants and managers are meticulously selected by the One Man Support team to ensure that they have experience, high-level academic training, and great human qualities.

The recruitment process to join their team is very selective. After receiving an application, OMS conducts interviews with each professional and verifies the references from former clients before adding the independent professional to the pool.

Transparency between OMS, the independent professional, and the clients

The freelance professional can choose the missions in which to participate. OMS takes care of hiring and billing, in addition to offering other services to the independent professionals, such as training, events, coworking spaces, and assistance in managing their business in terms of banking, insurance, and accounting. This way, the professional can focus exclusively on their work.

According to Joan Guisado, also a partner of OMS in Spain, «one of the main principles in our business is transparency in the cost model and value distribution between OMS, the client, and the independent consultant.» The daily rate that a company pays for a project is much lower than market standards for strategic consulting. Independent professionals can achieve higher incomes than in a conventional company, as the business model allocates 80% of every 100 euros billed to the professional and 20% to cover OMS’s expenses.

The professional team formed to collaborate on each project is very diverse, depending on the client’s needs. It can range from a single consultant to a structured team, and formulas can be created for part-time or full-time, for several days or months.
