La Roda: Sánchez (PP) promueve una «comunidad energética» para reducir el coste de la luz en un 40%

CCOO celebra que la creación de empleo en C-LM siga llegando también a los trabajadores de origen extranjero

Isabel Palencia and María Castillo, members of the Popular Party’s list of candidates for the mayoralty of La Roda, held a press conference to inform about the measures that Eduardo Sánchez will undertake as mayor of La Roda from May 28th onwards. They plan to launch an energy community that will supply 400 families with every megawatt of energy produced, leading to a 40% reduction in electricity bills.

According to the ‘populares’, this community is highly innovative, as it provides a legal entity that allows its members to decide on their preferred means of energy production and management, thereby generating economic, social, and environmental benefits. It will be a Renewable Energy Community, where energy will be obtained from photovoltaic parks and distributed among all members, resulting in a discount of up to 40% off their electricity bills.

The PP stated that this system is already being implemented in other towns such as Bogarra, El Robledo, and Peñascosa, where the city council acts as the project promoter, seeking funding through grants such as the Recovery and Transformation Plan, from which they obtained 1.9 million euros.

The ‘populares’ also disclosed that several municipalities, such as Villarrobledo, Casas de Ves, and Cenizate, are interested in implementing this system and are awaiting the resolution of grants from the CE Implanta plan.

«This is a great opportunity for all residents who want to start using photovoltaic panels but cannot afford them for economic or space reasons. Through this initiative, they can do so, provided that they give their trust to Eduardo Sánchez on May 28th,» they concluded.
