José Luis Martínez Guijarro, Vice President of the regional government, has highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in driving the deployment of telecommunications throughout the entire region. During the III Telecommunications Forum of Castilla-La Mancha in Madridejos, Guijarro emphasized the need to ensure citizens have access to these services, regardless of where they live. He noted that this effort is a key factor in combating depopulation.
Guijarro stressed that all municipalities in the region should have access to technologies such as optical fiber. He stated that this would be crucial for citizens to have access to public services, including education. José Luis Escudero, the Minister of Sustainable Development, added that the alliances discussed in the forum had helped to provide 96% of the region’s territory with fiber optic coverage. He emphasized that reaching 100% coverage is the goal, and that the Connectivity Social Bonus will be in effect until the end of 2024.
