Antonio de Miguel, current Vox councilor and spokesperson for the Municipal Group in the City Council of Guadalajara, has announced his departure from the party and his adherence to the political project led by Macarena Olona, «disappointed and betrayed by the mafia practices of dictator Abascal».
«Vox despises municipal politics, critical thinking hinders them. Their model is that of authoritarian democracy; the limitation of freedoms and rights is the common denominator in all provinces. And the figure that has allowed and encouraged this is Santiago Abascal,» Antonio de Miguel stated in a press release.
In his farewell to Vox, Antonio de Miguel explained that «there are times in life when you have to decide whether you want to be with those who are trying to transform this perverse political system or renounce it in order to take seats and settle into your party and the system.»
«I have tried to be demanding, consistent, and loyal in the things we proposed. I have tried to listen, be close, practical, sincere, natural, and accessible. I have walked through neighborhoods and known the problems of the city by listening to them from the voice of those affected. That’s my way of doing politics, and I’m proud of it, even though in some occasions I have only done what has been allowed in my party,» he added.
