C-LM celebra el Día de Europa destacando la respuesta "rápida y solidaria" de la UE a las últimas crisis

Castilla-La Mancha celebrated Europe Day on Tuesday, highlighting «the fast and supportive response» given by the European Union to recent crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, reinforcing common guarantees and «making available a significant amount of economic funds, but also human and material resources, with the aim of emerging stronger from both crises.» The regional Vice President, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, announced that Castilla-La Mancha will publish at the end of this month the new call for scholarships for the training of specialists in EU-related matters. These scholarships represent a training opportunity for young people under 30 who are interested in starting a career path in EU-related fields. Martínez Guijarro also made a historical overview of the current European Union, reminding that Spain will assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second semester of this year.

Paco Núñez, the regional PP president, said that Europe «must continue to have a Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) where the rights of farmers are paramount, not those of environmentalists.» Núñez also criticized the «poor» management of EU funds by the PSOE government.

Different localities also celebrated Europe Day, including Albacete, where the city council and the provincial government emphasized their commitment to defend European values and the importance of local governments’ role in addressing the continent’s challenges.
